studio fable workplace

fable’s workplace is a reflection of their practice – expressive and playful, a testing place of ideas. Originally a windowless basement, this new studio space opens onto a private garden and has its own separate entrance. Three small rooms were opened up to create a light and open studio, with layers of the building’s heritage past left evident in the roughened stonework and material patina throughout. As a storyteller herself – through words, graphic and spatial design, it felt appropriate to allow the space to denote its own story.

A small model making workshop is tucked into the rear of the space and painted in deep grey/green. Custom plywood joinery (designed with Tanguy Le Moing) creates a visual counterpoint with the sculptural stone walls/ The space is furnished with an eclectic collection of sculptural furniture from Moroso and Vitra, as well as a deep red Togo couch from Ligne Roset. fable’s collection of the versatile and iconic milk crate has become a feature of the new storage joinery which features perforated plywood doors.
